Key Multi-Skilled Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and production performance.
  • Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and improvement projects as required.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Complete maintenance records accurately using the site's maintenance management system.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.
  • Participate in the shift rota, including working Bank Holidays as required within the food manufacturing operation.

Multi-Skilled Engineer Requirements:

Essential:

  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities (electrical bias preferred).
  • Experience in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' engineering experience within the food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance techniques.
  • Good project management skills with a detailed knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.

Desired:

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services.
