Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and organise labour across harvesting lines to maximise efficiency and output
- Lead and supervise harvesting teams, ensuring performance, productivity, and quality standards are met
- Monitor harvesting KPIs and take corrective action where required
- Ensure all products meet required specifications including quality, sizing, presentation, and consistency
- Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and health and safety standards across all areas
- Carry out regular checks on production output and quality throughout the day
- Communicate clear instructions and updates to teams on harvesting priorities and plans
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and support ongoing development
- Ensure accurate recording of production data and documentation
- Drive continuous improvement across harvesting processes and operations
- Liaise with other departments and external partners to ensure operational alignment
- Support training of new starters and supervisors within the team
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor within Fresh Produce
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and team management ability
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Basic IT and numerical skills
- Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns
Qualifications:
- GCSE, NVQ, Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Food Hygiene (essential)
- HACCP training (desirable)
