Key Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults and restore production equipment quickly and safely to minimise downtime.
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of assets.
- Carry out improvement actions raised through inspections, audits, or maintenance reviews.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with site safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, parts usage, and equipment condition.
- Manage spare parts availability and support effective stock control to avoid production delays.
- Work closely with operations and engineering colleagues to support performance targets.
- Communicate clearly at shift changeovers to ensure continuity of work and issue resolution.
- Supervise third-party contractors on site, ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment at all times.
Required Maintenance Engineer Experience:
- Recognised apprenticeship or technical training in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled engineering.
- Experience with one or more of the following industries: Plastics, Automotive, FMCG, Food, Chemical, Packaging. Must be Fast Moving Environment.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable industry experience at this level.
- 5 years experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or production setting.
- Confidence working in fast-paced environments with high equipment utilisation.
- Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.
- Experience within regulated manufacturing environments is beneficial but not essential.
- A proactive, accountable approach with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
