Purchasing/Spares Assistant | Rochdale | Full Time | £28,000–£32,000 per annum Our client is a world-class market leader in the manufacture of automatic combustion equipment, exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and serving a broad range of blue-chip customers. Based at their Rochdale headquarters, which includes an 8-acre production facility, they are continuing to expand their team. The Role This is a varied role providing support to the buyer with product selection, purchasing, supplier negotiations and order management, while also assisting the spares team with quoting, chasing and fulfilling orders. You will help maintain accurate information on the ERP system and ensure products are purchased at the right time, to the required specification and at a competitive price. Key Responsibilities Assisting the buyer with product selection Creating and chasing purchase and sales orders Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a competitive price Negotiating with suppliers and building positive, long-term relationships Maintaining accurate information on the ERP system Working to tight deadlines Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to the buyer Assisting with the shipping of goods Supporting the spares team with quoting, chasing and fulfilling orders Requirements Essential Proven administration experience A solid understanding of basic ledger management Good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook Excellent time management skills An organised approach and the ability to work on your own initiative Effective communication skills Desirable Previous customs experience, although training will be provided What’s In It For You Salary of £28,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on experience Pension contribution of 4%, rising to 6% after one year What’s next?
