A position has arisen for a CNC Setter/Operator. In this role you will play an integral part in the machining department, taking responsibility for setting and operating CNC machinery, producing precision components and ensuring high standards of quality are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Setting machines independently from setup sheets
  • Setting tooling, offsets and fixtures
  • Operating Mazak CNC lathes and Haas machining centres
  • Producing precision components in low to medium batch quantities
  • Working to tight tolerances while maintaining high quality standards
  • Carrying out self-inspection using micrometres, verniers and gauges
  • Managing your own workload to ensure efficient production
  • Working independently while contributing to a busy machining department

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator
  • Ability to set machines independently from setup sheets
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings
  • Good knowledge of tooling, speeds and feeds
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Ability to carry out self-inspection using micrometres, verniers and gauges
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
  • Experience with Mazak CNC lathes and/or Haas machining centres would be desirable
  • Previous experience within a precision engineering environment would be beneficial
