A position has arisen for a Project Manager. In this role you will play an integral part in the successful delivery of projects, taking responsibility for managing project programmes, maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships, and ensuring delivery to cost, quality and schedule from design through to commissioning and handover.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining strong working relationships with clients and associated personnel
- Managing and controlling assigned project work in line with agreed programmes
- Interpreting drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Maintaining and updating all project documentation
- Managing and capturing Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and Opportunities (RAIDO)
- Liaising with dependent organisations and stakeholders
- Leading assigned teams, ensuring delivery to cost, quality and schedule from design through to commissioning and handover
- Managing and updating schedules, identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans
- Reporting on project progress, including cost and schedule
- Managing project changes effectively
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- Working with the Commercial Manager to monitor supply chain performance, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events
- Driving solutions to complex engineering and programme challenges
- Managing sub-contractors
- Ensuring adherence to Security, Safety and Environmental requirements
- Maintaining familiarity with contractual terms and conditions for both clients and subcontractors
Requirements
- A formal Project Management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or APMP, would be desirable
- Proven track record as an experienced Project Manager
- Experience in a highly regulated industry such as Defence, Construction, Nuclear or Aviation
- Strong risk and schedule management capability
- Budget management experience
- Sub-contractor management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise complex workloads
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Ability to chair meetings, drive progress and maintain audit trails
- Ability to understand complex engineering and programme challenges and distil them into clear solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Project
