The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of holistic care as directed by nursing and senior staff following agreed care plans. She/he will assist in maintaining standards of care and follow agreed policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective working environment that is responsive to the needs of all residents and promotes self fulfilment and independence

Objectives of the post:

1. 1. To assist in the assessment of person centred holistic needs and contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of individual programmes of care
2. 2. To contribute to the provision of a safe and effective environment that promotes person centred care
3. 3. To understand Safeguarding role and responsibly
4. 4. To participate in the training and development requirements of the Home.
5. 5. To promote a positive image of Lotus Care at all times

Responsibilities of Care

1. 1. To carry out specific daily support for all residents in accordance with individual care plans under the direction of nursing staff
2. 2. To have knowledge and understanding of role within Safeguarding policy and procedure
3. 3. To have an awareness of the Mental Health Conditions
4. 4. To have knowledge and understanding of Deprivation of Liberty and mental Capacity policy and procedure and how this relates to individual residents
5. 5. To assist in providing holistic care to all residents to ensure their heath and well being needs are met and highlight unmet need to nursing staff
6. 6. To ensure that the confidentiality of residents’ information obtained in the course of your role is respected at all times.
7. 7. To report any information to the nurse on duty regarding problems or changes in residents condition/care needs
8. 8. To keep accurate and thorough records for all aspects of care delivered
9. 9. Participate in organised training and development sessions to ensure care is delivered safely and effectively
