Role Description
The Electrical Supervisor will oversee electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities on commercial and public sector projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising site teams, coordinating workloads, allocating tasks, and monitoring progress while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company standards. The role involves inspecting electrical systems and equipment, diagnosing faults, supporting resolution of technical issues, and verifying the quality of completed work. The Electrical Supervisor will liaise with project managers, clients, and other trades to support smooth project delivery, maintain accurate documentation, and promote a strong safety culture. This is a full-time, on-site role based in York but travel and working away will be expected depending on where projects are in the country. The role is only open to UK-based residents. Qualifications
- Demonstrated supervisory skills, including team leadership, workload coordination, and performance monitoring.
- Strong experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair in commercial or public sector environments.
- Solid understanding of electricity principles and practical application in building services and infrastructure.
- Background in electrical engineering and familiarity with relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
- Hands-on experience working with electrical equipment, tools, and test instruments safely and effectively.
- Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and valid industry certifications; 18th Edition or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven commitment to health and safety, including risk assessment, safe systems of work, and adherence to company policies.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other contractors.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the north of England as required.
