Tesco Media is the ultimate media partner to brands. Built on unrivalled customer insight, it’s a media owner with soul, scale, and storytelling power. Tesco Media helps brands and agencies connect meaningfully with customers, drive creative effectiveness, and grow at the point of purchase. Through Tesco, the UK’s largest grocery retailer with over 24 million Clubcard households - representing nearly every home in the UK - Tesco Media offers brands an unparalleled view into the motivations and behaviours of the nation. It is perfectly positioned to solve business’s greatest marketing challenges, unlocking growth by enabling brands to connect with customers in meaningful ways online, in-store and via its offsite partners, all while enhancing the shopping experience for its customers.
The role of Head of Product owns the product vision and roadmap for Tesco Media’s campaign management platform — the core system that enables advertisers and agencies to plan, buy, optimise and measure media across our omnichannel retail media network. You’ll lead a high‑performing product organisation, working in close partnership with Engineering, Design, Data, Sales, Media Strategy and Operations teams. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior stakeholders, agencies, brands and CPGs, where you’ll balance ambitious platform evolution with reliability, security and commercial outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Product Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the long‑term product vision and roadmap for campaign management across all Tesco Media propositions (onsite, offsite, in‑store and CRM). Build a scalable, integrated AdTech ecosystem that supports many advertiser, agency and partner use cases. Shape how brands and agencies access Tesco Media inventory through self‑serve and managed‑service models.
- Self‑Serve Platform & AdTech Development: Own the end‑to‑end campaign lifecycle — from insights and planning through activation, measurement and optimisation. Deliver a best‑in‑class, modular self‑serve platform that drives adoption, revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Reduce time‑to‑market and operational friction through intelligent workflows, governance and execution controls. Define the build / buy / partner strategy and lead secure integration of third‑party AdTech solutions.
- Ecosystem & Integrations: Build integrations with leading AdTech and retail media platforms (e.g. Skai, Pacvue, DSPs such as The Trade Desk). Ensure interoperability with wider martech and programmatic ecosystems.
- Data‑Led Product Management: Define product OKRs and success metrics aligned to Tesco Media’s commercial objectives. Use data, experimentation and rapid testing to drive continuous improvement, performance and innovation.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Build, lead and inspire a global product team, partnering closely with Design and Engineering. Act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive stakeholders across dunnhumby, Tesco Media and the wider Tesco Group. Navigate complex technical, commercial and operational trade‑offs with clarity and confidence.
- Industry Leadership: Represent Tesco Media externally, positioning us as a thought leader in retail media and AdTech. Develop product playbooks, collateral and thought leadership content to support market adoption.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Proven senior product leadership experience within retail media, AdTech or B2B platform environments. Track record of defining and delivering large‑scale platform products from concept through launch and scale. Deep understanding of AdTech ecosystems, platform architecture, APIs and data models. Experience leading complex third‑party integrations and build / buy / partner decisions. Strong commercial, analytical and customer‑centric mindset.
- Leadership & Mindset: Visionary, strategic thinker who can translate ambition into clear, actionable roadmaps. Comfortable operating in ambiguity with a start‑up / scale‑up mindset. High technical fluency, able to bridge business and engineering conversations. Confident influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority. Passion for building, scaling and continuously improving platform products.
