dunnhumby employs nearly 2,500 experts in offices throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas working for transformative, iconic brands such as Tesco, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Unilever and Metro.
dunnhumby Network Alliance dna (dunnhumby Network Alliance) is an open, collaborative Retail and Commerce Media service designed to unify a fragmented market and unlock growth for brands, agencies and retailers.
Operating as a neutral layer across multiple retail partners, DNA brings together audiences, inventory and intelligence enabling a single, simplified point of entry to cross-retailer media at scale.
Built in partnership with Kevel and powered by dunnhumby’s data and expertise, DNA connects brand and performance across the full customer journey, delivering more transparent, consistent and effective outcomes in an increasingly complex media landscape.
The Role
Build in the field.
You will embed with brands, agencies and retail partners and ship working software against their real data and real workflows, taking dna from prototype to production and finding product-market fit at pace.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Embed with retailers, brands and agencies to scope the actual problem, then ship production-ready code against their real data and systems.
- Prototype fast and favour working software over slideware, testing hypotheses and de-risking decisions before wider build-out.
- Build and integrate core platform components: APIs, services, data pipelines and user-facing workflows across dunnhumby, Kevel and retailer environments.
- Own what you build end-to-end, including release, deployment, monitoring and issue resolution once it is live.
- Turn field learning into product direction, identifying the repeatable patterns worth productising instead of rebuilding partner by partner.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tooling to raise both output and quality, and help shape how the team works as it grows.
- What You'll Bring
- Strong software engineering and system design, with production experience in Python or similar, plus APIs, microservices and cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure).
- Experience with large-scale data systems and pipelines, and comfort moving between backend, data and front-end work.
- A track record of customer-embedded or client-facing delivery that you have shipped inside someone else's environment, not only your own.
- High ownership and comfort with ambiguity: you scope it, build it, deploy it, and stay accountable when it breaks.
- Strong product judgement, balancing speed, quality and long-term maintainability.
- The ability to explain technical decisions clearly to commercial, retailer and partner audiences.
- What you can expect from us
We won’t just meet your expectations.
We’ll defy them.
So you’ll enjoy the comprehensive rewards package you’d expect from a leading technology company.
But also, a degree of personal flexibility you might not expect.
Plus, thoughtful perks, like flexible working hours and your birthday off.

But with a nimble, small-business feel that gives you the freedom to play, experiment and learn.
