About the Role
We are looking for a curious, driven Price & Promotions Consultant to join the dunnhumby Price & Promotions (P&P) team.
In this role, you’ll help shape Tesco’s pricing journey — developing and embedding dunnhumby’s P&P capabilities into one of the UK’s largest retailers.
As a Senior Pricing Lead, you’ll work closely with Tesco’s Pricing, Product, Tech and Data teams to translate client requirements into new capabilities and tools to drive real-world improvements in pricing and performance.
This exciting role offers the chance to fast-track your consulting career, gain a deep understanding of retail operations, and build experience in customer-focused analytics.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team where your work directly drives measurable business impact for both dunnhumby and Tesco.
This is a hybrid working role (3 days in the office per week) across our Hammersmith and Welwyn Garden City office.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Tesco’s Commercial Trade & Strategy teams to define and deliver against our pricing roadmap.
- Take a hands‑on role in rolling out and embedding new pricing developments, tools and processes alongside Tesco’s Tech & Product teams - helping our clients make more impactful and efficient day‑to‑day decisions.
- Deliver both strategic and tactical projects that shape Tesco’s response to a continually evolving & fast‑changing retail environment.
- Solution Design & Implementation
- Collaborate with dunnhumby’s Product, Science & Consulting teams to co‑develop and test new pricing solutions.
- Work with both dunnhumby & Tesco Data teams to build the foundations for future data enhancements, enabling more dynamic and scalable pricing capabilities over time.
- Become a subject matter expert on dunnhumby’s pricing and optimisation capabilities - able to lead presentations, workshops and discovery sessions with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across Tesco to connect their commercial priorities with technical expertise.
- Partner with dunnhumby teams to continuously improve our tools, processes, and ways of working.
- Gain broad exposure to retail pricing and promotions, developing skills across consulting, analytics, and project delivery.
- Insight & Measurement
- Analyse dunnhumby data to create clear, actionable insights on how pricing and promotions impact customers and the business.
- Turn analysis into compelling stories and recommendations that influence Tesco decisions.
- Support tracking and reporting of the impact and value delivered by our pricing and promotions activity.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in retail consulting, pricing strategy, or product implementation within a data‑driven environment.
- Strong understanding or passion for retail pricing and promotions, ideally within the UK grocery sector.
- Demonstrable stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence different levels and teams.
- Curious and analytical mindset, with clear past‑experience of interpreting data to turn it into actionable insights.
- Prior experience working in cross‑functional teams, collaborating & learning from colleagues in Product, Analytics, and Commercial areas.
- Enthusiasm for hands‑on problem solving and comfortable working with new solutions and tools.
- Familiarity with dunnhumby tools and methodologies is a plus.
- What you’ll gain
- The opportunity to work on a high‑profile pricing programme with Tesco.
- Exposure to cutting‑edge data science and product development in retail.
- A collaborative, inclusive culture that values curiosity, courage and customer‑first thinking.
