dunnhumby is the global leader in Customer Data Science, helping the world's most ambitious retailers and brands put the customer at the heart of every decision. With nearly 3,000 experts across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, we partner with iconic businesses like Tesco, Coca-Cola, Meijer, Procter & Gamble and Metro to turn data into growth, innovation and measurable value for their customers.

Tesco Media is the ultimate media partner to brands. Built on unrivalled customer insight, it’s a media owner with soul, scale, and storytelling power. Tesco Media helps brands and agencies connect meaningfully with customers, drive creative effectiveness, and grow at the point of purchase.

We’re looking for a talented Senior Business Planning Analyst to join our Commercial Intelligence capability within Tesco Media. You’ll turn performance data, commercial analytics and stakeholder questions into clear business insight, compelling executive narratives and prioritised action. At the heart of the role is the “so what”: identifying the questions that matter most, connecting evidence across client, category, channel and product performance, and helping leaders understand what is driving growth, risk and opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

  • You’ll connect insight with action, bringing structure and clarity to complex commercial performance questions and helping the business make faster, evidence-based decisions.
  • Shape the performance story: Own concise narratives for weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews, translating analysis into what happened, why it happened and what we should do next.
  • Turn complexity into decisions: Create executive-ready packs, papers and decision notes that bring together performance signals and provide a consistent view of growth, risk, underperformance and opportunity.
  • Own the critical business questions: Define and prioritise the questions facing Tesco Media, develop hypotheses and brief analytical work to test them, challenging assumptions and keeping recommendations grounded in evidence and commercial context.
  • Connect insight across the business: Partner with BI, Commercial Analytics, Sales Operations, Yield, Finance, Product and Propositions to bring together evidence across datasets, metrics and business forums.
  • Drive insight into action: Support insight-to-action reviews, track decisions and measurable outcomes, and work alongside BI & Reporting to improve consistency in metric definitions, narrative quality and reporting interpretation.

What We're Looking For

  • You’ll bring strong commercial judgement, analytical thinking and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced business and commercial acumen, with strong data analysis, interpretation, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent insight storytelling and executive communication skills, with the ability to explain what is happening, why it matters and what action is needed to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and work across multiple specialist teams.
  • Experience using hypothesis-led analysis to diagnose commercial performance, identify opportunities and risks, and translate findings into measurable actions.
  • Understanding of retail media, media, ecommerce, digital advertising or marketplace business models would be valuable, alongside experience interpreting BI tools, data products, Looker dashboards or commercial performance metrics.
