We are recruiting an experienced Environmental Services Consultant to join a busy environmental consultancy team supporting infrastructure projects and external clients. This is a contract role running until 31 July 2026, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work on high-profile projects.
The Role
The successful candidate will work within an established environmental consultancy team, delivering high-quality support across carbon management and air quality, alongside at least one other environmental discipline. The role involves close collaboration with environmental and engineering specialists to improve environmental performance across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consultancy services across air quality, carbon and environmental sustainability projects
- Undertake air quality assessments, analysis of AQ data and interpretation of results
- Support carbon footprinting, carbon strategy and carbon reporting activities
- Analyse and interpret weather and environmental data to support assessments
- Produce clear, accurate and high-quality technical reports for clients and project teams
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental standards, policies and legislation
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery
- Manage workload effectively and contribute to meeting project and commercial targets
Essential Experience & Skills
- Strong, proven experience in Air Quality (AQ) and carbon management
- Good working knowledge of air quality monitoring, modelling or data analysis
- Experience in carbon footprinting and/or carbon strategy development
- Ability to analyse environmental and weather data using appropriate tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Desirable
- Degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability or a related discipline
- Working towards or holding Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status
- Membership of IEMA, IES or a similar professional body
- Knowledge of UK environmental regulations and policy frameworks
