Our client is looking for experienced Passenger Assistants for an ongoing term time only School contract.
Are you a patient and responsible, caring person looking for a rewarding part-time role? We are hiring School Passenger Assistants to support the safe and enjoyable transport of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to and from school.
This is a split-shift position based around school hours, ideal for someone seeking regular part-time work with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with SEND children
- Secure wheelchairs and ensure seatbelt safety following best practice
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the vehicle
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, schools, and team members
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations
- Handle occasional challenging behavior with calm and care
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with SEND children
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Adults & Children) or willing to apply
- Confidence in securing wheelchair users and adjusting seating
- Clear and compassionate communication skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy
- Willingness to work flexible hours and undertake manual handling
- Commitment to safeguarding and safe working practices
