We are currently recruiting for an experienced planning officer to support minerals and waste planning work for a local authority in the Oxford area. This is a 6‑month contract offering hybrid working and flexibility for part‑time applicants. This role will involve managing complex planning applications and providing specialist planning advice on minerals and waste developments, helping to support key planning services within the authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment and determination of minerals and waste planning applications, including major and complex proposals.
- Provide professional planning advice on minerals and waste matters to internal teams, stakeholders, and elected members.
- Prepare planning reports, committee reports, and technical advice.
- Manage consultations with statutory consultees, developers, and the public.
- Support planning policy work relating to minerals and waste planning strategies.
- Represent the authority at planning committees, meetings, and hearings when required.

Requirements
