Overview
Lynx Employment Services Ltd is recruiting on behalf of Sheffield City Council for an experienced Mental Health Social Worker to join the Maximising Independence Team (MIT). This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a dedicated, multi-disciplinary service that supports adults with mental health needs to live more independently and achieve better outcomes in their daily lives. You will be part of a forward-thinking team that values collaboration, professional development, and compassionate practice.
Responsibilities
- Undertake strengths-based social care assessments and reviews in line with Care Act principles.
- Carry out mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, and safeguarding enquiries where required.
- Apply knowledge of Section 117 aftercare, attending multi-agency and professional meetings as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with health partners and community services to promote enablement and recovery.
- Record and manage caseloads using LAS (Liquidlogic) experience preferred but not essential.
- Contribute to service development, promoting dignity, inclusion, and empowerment.
About You (Qualifications)
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Proven experience in adult mental health or a related setting.
- Confident in applying legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills.
- Compassionate, proactive, and motivated to make a real difference.
