On behalf of our client near Knaresborough, we are recruiting a Mechanical Fitter to join a Waste Treatment Plant on a full-time basis, initially for 3 months.
Responsibilities
- Support the Mechanical Maintenance Team and Lead Engineer, carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, fabrication work, and assisting with planned outages while maintaining high health, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain and repair conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves, and cranes.
- Carry out fabrication and workshop duties.
- Complete PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Use CMMS systems and support maintenance KPIs.
- Follow all H&S, quality, and environmental procedures.
Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm
- Week 2: Mon-Fri, 10pm-6am
Requirements
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter.
- Mechanical Apprenticeship.
- NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Maintenance Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work.
- IOSH Managing Safely (desirable).
