BTL-UK LTD is a UK manufacturer and international distributor of Bearings, Power Transmission and Motion Transfer Linkages. We produce items for some of the world's well-known brands such as JCB, New Holland Tractors, Volvo and John Deere, under our licenced brand name of DUNLOP. We currently require an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team at the Burgess Hill site.
Role Overview
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all manufactured components meet company and customer quality standards. The successful candidate will perform inspections throughout the manufacturing process, verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications, and support continuous improvement in quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections of machined components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers, height gauges, and CMM where applicable.
- Record and maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation.
- Identify non-conforming products and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and relevant standards.
- Work closely with production teams to maintain quality standards and improve processes.
- Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Quality Control or Inspection role within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience with quality systems and documentation.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CMM programming and inspection.
- Knowledge of ISO quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Background in CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
Full time Hours 06.00-14.30 Monday to Thursday, 06.00-13.30 Friday total 39 hours per week, 28 days paid annual leave per year including bank holidays. Salary range £30,000 to £35,000 per annum depending upon experience.
