What you\’ll be doing
- Developing and delivering Dunelm\’s Verification Strategy, making sure it’s practical, purposeful, and future fit.
- Managing certification and verification for more responsibly sourced materials, across both product and packaging.
- Verifying and assessing supplier certifications against product and website claims, ensuring we stay compliant with the Green Claims Code.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers, guiding them through verification requirements and helping them achieve recognised certifications.
- Producing clear, useful reports to support our commercial teams with verification progress.
- Holding regular catch-ups with commercial teams to review how products are progressing.
- Creating training and internal guidance for colleagues and suppliers, making verification easier to understand and apply.
- Developing supply chain traceability projects, helping us dig deeper into where and how our materials are sourced.
- Carrying out industry benchmarking to stay on top of best practice and legislation around certification and verification.
- Supporting annual and seasonal reporting, helping Dunelm meet its sustainability commitments.
- Leading on verification requirements linked to legislation, including selling in the UK and EU, and managing relevant taxes.
What we\’ll look for in you
- A background in certifications and auditing, with a good eye for detail and a nose for what’s credible.
- Confidence to lead projects independently, while keeping others in the loop.
- Experience working across Responsible Sourcing, with a broad understanding of the landscape.
- A solid grasp of supply chain mapping, and how to trace materials back to their roots.
- Familiarity with certifications like GRS, GOTS, Better Cotton, and others in the same space.
- Knowledge of product circularity and more sustainable materials, such as responsibly sourced cotton, timber, and palm oil.
- Strong supply chain engagement skills, and confidence when communicating with colleagues and external partners.
- A good level of Excel and data handling skills, with the ability to turn numbers into insights.
- Great organisational skills, and the ability to present ideas clearly and simply.
- Sound data integrity skills, making sure what we say is backed by what we know.
