The Trading Finance function is responsible for driving sales, margin and stock performance across Stores and Digital channels. It combines commercial planning, pricing, promotions, range performance and channel strategy to deliver profitable growth. The team operates in a fast-paced, data‑led environment, working closely with Commercial, Digital, Stores, and Supply Chain to optimise customer experience and financial outcomes. It balances short‑term trading performance with longer‑term strategic decisions, using insight to drive better commercial decisions across the business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own the weekly Trade Insight for Stores and Digital, clearly articulating performance and key drivers using self‑serve tools.
  • Lead financial input into weekly trading forums, providing insight and challenge.
  • Partner with Digital and Store Operations teams to explain performance and identify actions.
  • Produce and own detailed channel and store‑level forecasts.
  • Own and develop channel profitability outputs, including order‑level profit analysis, and Channel P&Ls.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and proactively drive actions to improve channel performance.
  • Support business cases and commercial initiatives impacting channel performance.
  • Ensure alignment between trading outputs and wider finance (FP&A) processes and targets.

  • Strong ownership mindset with accountability for delivering reporting, forecasting and insight end‑to‑end.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, weekly trading environment.
  • Strong commercial instinct, with the ability to understand and explain key performance drivers.
  • Confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders across Digital and Stores.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise and actionable insight.
  • Strong prioritisation and organisation skills to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail alongside the ability to see the bigger commercial picture.
  • Proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities and driving action.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across finance and non‑finance teams.
  • Clear and confident communication, particularly in trading forums and senior discussions.

Essential skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong financial modelling and Excel capability.
  • Experience in a commercial finance or business partnering role.
  • Proven experience leading reporting and forecasting processes, leveraging data tools to drive insight.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets.
  • Ability to translate data into clear insight and recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Retail or e‑commerce experience.
  • Experience working with channel or order‑level profitability models.
  • Exposure to Stores & Digital performance metrics (e.g. traffic, conversion, AOV).
  • Experience operating in a fast‑paced, trading‑led environment.
