Sitting within the Responsible Sourcing Department, the Compliance team plays a vital role in ensuring data integrity and alignment with UK and European packaging and product legislation, including associated taxes, regulatory requirements, and sustainability targets. The Data Compliance Assistant is responsible for the review, validation, and administration of all product technical specifications against established standards. This is a process-driven, non-product-facing role focused on ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
The role is critical in identifying non-compliant or incomplete specifications, engaging suppliers to resolve issues, and maintaining high-quality data to support regulatory requirements and audit readiness. This role would suit an enthusiastic graduate or someone looking to take the next step in their career. It requires a methodical, detail-oriented individual who can communicate confidently and clearly with both internal teams and external suppliers.
You will join a close-knit team focused on tackling new challenges, improving ways of working, and embedding data-driven solutions to future-proof compliance operations.
We’re a hybrid business, which means you’ll have flexibility alongside time together with your team. In this role, you can expect 2 days a week in the office or on-site, helping you stay connected, collaborate and do your best work for our customers.
What you'll be doing:
- Review all product technical specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Conduct detailed data checks, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and compliance risks
- Validate supplier submissions against internal standards and legislative requirements
- Maintain specification data within internal systems, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date
- Engage suppliers to communicate data gaps, errors, and compliance breaches
- Drive resolution by ensuring timely updates and resubmission of compliant data
- Track and follow up on outstanding actions to ensure deadlines are met
- Support audit readiness by ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible
- Identify recurring issues and trends to support continuous improvement
- Support compliance spot checks and internal data validation activities
What we’ll look for in you:

- Highly methodical with strong attention to detail and the ability to review large volumes of data accurately
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage and challenge suppliers where required

- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and inconsistencies
- Experience working with data, technical documentation, or compliance processes (desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
