Drivers Mate to join our Home Delivery Network.

You’ll be working alongside our drivers helping to bring Dunelm’s home comforts straight to our customers’ doors.

This role comes with early starts, but you’ll usually be back at base by 5pm, giving you your evenings back.

The rota works on a rolling pattern, giving you a mix of long and short weekends, perfect for balancing work with life outside of it.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Contributing to the overall customer experience, via effective communication and displaying of outstanding levels of customer service.
  • Time keeping is key to ensure the customers have a great experience.
  • Use of PDA (phones) to call and communicate to our customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Helping the delivery drivers with reversing and banksman to ensure we and 3rd parties are always safe.
  • Adhering to health & safety regulations within the working environment.
  • While delivering, the customer experience is key, to ensure we offer our services such as “Room of Choice” and “Taking the packaging away”.
  • Assisting the Warehouse / Office teams with loading / unloading or any reasonable request.
  • The rotas we work give you long and short weekends on a rotation.

  • Role

You will play a critical role in the customer experience; no two days will be the same and you will need to adapt to changes as they occur. For the role you will ideally have:

  • Previous distribution experience.
  • Excellent PDA/Phone skills.
  • Experience in dealing with both customers and drivers in a clear and calm manner.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with different colleague groups.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs in a positive way.
  • Being flexible in your approach and able to adjust to the needs of the business when required.
