We operate year‑round, delivering facilities, hospitality, entertainment, representation and support services seven days a week.
Role Overview
The Student Graphic Designer reports to the Senior Social Media & Web Officer and works across a range of projects in the Communications & Marketing team. The role involves developing design ideas for campaigns, events and marketing materials for activities such as Freshers’ Week, one‑off events, executive campaigns, digital business materials and branding assets.
Responsibilities
- Create visual content for a wide range of activities and experiences.
- Produce content for many different briefs simultaneously, ensuring each piece is based on social insights, campaign needs and strategic pillars.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, third‑party suppliers and the Dundee student population.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing & Communications team, Student Executive and DUSA Leadership team.
Qualifications
- Experience using design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign (academic, personal or professional).
- Knowledge and experience of creating digital marketing materials.
- Strong creative skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise and structure work schedules.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, members and suppliers.
Hours of Work
This is a zero‑hour/casual post. Shifts vary week to week in line with operational requirements and cover a combination of days, evenings and weekends. Peak periods include Freshers’ Week, DUSA Elections and key campaign periods throughout the academic year.
Pay & Benefits
- Rate of Pay: the current National Minimum Wage (£12.71).
- Holiday Pay accrues at 12.07% of total hours worked and is paid monthly.
