Job Description

You will provide care and support to service users across the city within their own homes. This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week.

Requirements

You will have SVQ2 or the ability to undertake training to achieve this award within a specified timeframe.

You will also need to be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.

Responsibilities

You will assist in maintaining service users in their own homes by attending to their assessed personal and social care needs. You will help improve the quality of their lives.

The Individual

You should have previous or current caring experience to a high standard, either through life or work experience.

You should possess good written and oral communication skills, be able to work as part of a team or independently, and use your initiative.

You should have assessment skills and understand how to meet the needs of people living in the community.

You should demonstrate sensitivity and understanding when dealing with vulnerable individuals, maintain a non-judgemental attitude, and approach your work with professionalism, dependability, and reliability.

You will be required to work various shifts, including split shifts, evenings, weekends, and occasional nights.

Further training or study may be necessary.

This position is classified as Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by Dundee City Council.
