There is no obligation on the Children and Families Service to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work.If you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Ryan Stewart on 01382 436563 or by email ryan.stewart@dundeecity.gov.uk## RequirementsYou will have 3 National 4s, or equivalent and will have the ability to undertake HNC and SVQ3 or any other relevant qualification which provides evidence of academic achievement equivalent to or above SCQF Level 7.## ResponsibilitiesYou will assist in the creation and maintenance of a high quality care environment in which children and young people are are safe, secure and nurtured to grow.You will to help children and young people to make use of services and information as appropriate to their full advantage and to assist in the promotion of trauma informed support.## The IndividualWe require people who are motivated and who want to make a difference to the lives of young people cared for by Dundee City Council.You will have experience and understanding of working collaboratively with children and young people and their families and carers, along with experience of working with children and young people with disabilities including close personal care.You require an understanding of young people’s needs, the issues affecting them as individuals and the issues affecting them in a group living setting. On a daily basis you need to facilitate their care plans and offer them the necessary support and encouragement to help them reach their potential.You will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience of working effectively in a team.You will be able to undertake CALM and moving and handling procedures where required, be self-reliant, motivated and committed to high standards of care for children and young people.You must be able to work as part of a rota which involves waking nights.You will be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale.This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
