Background Dundee Heritage Trust runs two highly respected and vibrant museums – The Royal Research Ship Discovery/Discovery Point and Verdant Works. Both sites are fully accredited museums and have won numerous awards, both national and international, as well as being 5 star rated attractions with Visit Scotland. Both the polar and jute collections are Recognised Collections of National Significance.
We have recently reopened our In‑Tay‑Twined gallery at Verdant Works Museum, a refreshed look at the relationship between jute growing regions of Southeast Asia and Dundee. We have worked with lots of partners to make sure that we are telling stories from diverse perspectives. Having repainted our gallery, we wanted to add in some exciting artistic additions.
We are looking for an artist to add detail to the walls surrounding the panels, responding to the themes of the In‑Tay‑Twined gallery, where we tell the story from partition through independence and into the legacy of those acts globally right up to today.
