Job Description

Job DescriptionBased at Baldovie or Riverside Household Waste Recycling Centres you will work part time, 16.25 hours per week on a shift rota. Hours of work are 5:15pm to 8:30pm, 5 days per week between Monday to Sunday.\\n \\nThe post is temporary for 6 months from 1st April 2025 until no later than 30th September 2025.\\n \\nIf you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Martin Jeffers by email at martin.jeffers@dundeecity.gov.ukRequirementsYou will have basic numeric and reading/writing skills.ResponsibilitiesYou will ensure that the recycling centres are maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times. You will provide assistance and direction to the general public and other site users and to ensure that materials are properly segregated into the appropriate categories and areas for re-use and recycling.The IndividualYou will have experience of customer service provision, manual handling skills, lifting of goods, containers, etc, and knowledge of recycling requirements or environmental issues.

An awareness of Health and Safety issues related to recycling centres is also essential, along with the ability to maintain a high level of site tidiness and to control site traffic.\\n \\nYou will also have good communication skills, be willing to help and deal politely and courteously with members of the public.\\n \\nThe ability to work irregular hours and weekends, and a willingness to undergo training are also essential.
