Based at St Johns High School or Grove Academy, you will work full-time term time, 37 hours per week on a temporary basis for one year. The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30. Requirements
  • You will have 3 National 4s including English and Maths or Literacy/Numeracy, or equivalent, or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
  • You will provide assistance and support within the support staff team to achieve a flexible and comprehensive service throughout the school day.
The Individual
  • You will have knowledge and understanding of IT systems and proven use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and proven planning and organisational skills.
  • You will have knowledge and understanding of Data Protection and confidentiality; teamworking skills are also essential.
  • You will be committed and have the ability to achieve full Modern Apprenticeship and to achieving SVQ L2 in Business and Administration @ SCQF level 5.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
