Hours: 37 hours per week

Based at Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week on a fixed term basis until August 2028. This is inclusive of attending off-the-job learning at Dundee and Angus College one term-time day per week for two years. The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30. Please ensure, if you are applying for a Modern Apprentice post, that you meet one of these criteria.

Requirements:

  • You will have a minimum of 2 Highers, to include English and Maths or Physics, or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • You will learn and assist with the provision of an Architectural consultancy service to the Council and its service departments and to external public agencies, as directed by the Architectural Services Manager.
  • You will learn and assist with design, administration and co-ordination of Architectural services on construction projects from inception to completion.
  • You will learn and assist with representing Architectural Services on construction projects and maintenance projects emanating from the Division, to ensure compliance with maintenance and design specifications, materials and workmanship standards.

The Individual:

  • You will have the ability to work on your own initiative, have effective time management, good administration and organisational skills and be computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • You will have the ability to undertake site surveys that may include working at height and working in confined spaces.
  • You will be committed and enthusiastic towards completing a full Modern Apprenticeship and achieving HNC Built Environment (SCQF Level 7) and SVQ 3 CCO: Site Technical Support (SCQF Level 6).
