Job Description Working in a hybrid style, based at home and 8 City Square, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

You will have SVQ/NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health OR NEBOSH General Certificate supported by sufficient relevant experience in a health and safety role.

Responsibilities You will work as part of the Council’s Health and Safety Team to provide competent health and safety advice and support to a range of services, to achieve the objectives of the Council’s Health and Safety Arrangements, for schools and nurseries.

The Individual You will have sufficient relevant experience in a health and safety role, ideally in a schools and nursery environment.

Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and guidance.

Experience of carrying out risk assessments and appraising those developed by others of undertaking health and safety incident investigations.

You will have experience of undertaking health and safety audits and inspections of producing health and safety management information.

Experience of developing & delivering health & safety information, instruction and training along with working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Office 365, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel.

You will have the ability to research legislation and best practice and apply this to a range of health and safety situations.

The ability to identify potential risks and advise on appropriate controls to analyse and interrogate data, use your own judgement to make decisions, and positively influence collaborative decisions to improve health and safety .

The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work with limited supervision, proven written, oral & presentation skills along with proven report writing skills.
