We are looking for client friendly, conscientious people to join a small and busy Operations Team within a thriving family-run business, with the main focus being weddings and events. The role requires excellent customer service and communication skills; as everything we do goes towards making happy memories to last a lifetime. Dundas Castle is an exclusive use venue, situated in a private estate, close to Edinburgh.
Working during events, to make the client experience happy, comfortable and positive, you will be confident, self-assured, a good degree of common sense with the ability to work well in a team and alone. This is a zero hours contract, with shifts predominantly weekends, however during peak season shifts are available throughout the week. Shifts will be available during the day, and also overnight. Night shift is paid at an enhanced rate.
The duties include:
- Preparing areas used for events
- Welcoming and assisting guests
- Ensuring all areas are clear and tidy
- Always providing exceptional customer service
Excellent personal presentation and grooming are essential. You will be joining a small, friendly, professional team who provide a consistent, high quality of service within the hospitality industry. Training will be given. Own transport and full UK driver’s license is essential. Must be comfortable around dogs.
Responsibilities:
- Attend event briefings so that the nature of the event is understood and tasks allocated
- Working with the Operations Team to ensure that every event runs according to the itinerary, guided by the Duty Manager
- Assist with setting up prior to and during events
- Welcoming guests and making sure they have a wonderful experience throughout their time at Dundas Castle
- Coordinate with team members to ensure the timely completion of tasks
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members when needed
Skills:
- Proven experience in hospitality, restaurant, or hotel environments is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and independently when necessary
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Well presented and confident with customer service
