Dunchurch Pools is a canal side leisure destination, designed by the architects responsible for the Eden Project and set in the Warwickshire countryside near Rugby. A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior manager to join our team, leading our growing Café, Shop & Events businesses, whilst also supporting wider marina activities. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing senior team who lead the sites Moorings, Brokerage, Boatyard and Camping businesses.

Café & Events
Food & Entertainment at Dunchurch Pools is growing and expanding with our Café, Shop and Events. The successful candidate would manage and develop these businesses:
- Manage the operations of the Quayside Café.
- Organise, set up and manage five street food events annually with food vendors, bar and music.
- Organise, set up and manage two moorer functions (Annual BBQ and the Christmas Gathering).
- Develop menus, entertainment bookings and activities.
- Develop suppliers and partners.
- Ordering, stock control and wastage control.
- Compliance and excellence with food hygiene, health & safety and licensing regulations.
- Financial receipts, payments, budgeting and monitoring.
- Manage the team, rotas, cover, training and recruitment.
- Work collaboratively and co-ordinate with the grounds & maintenance team.
- Business planning and development.
Supplies & Shop
The Supplies and Shop business combines boat supplies (diesel, gas, coal etc.), chandlery, provisions and farm produce. The successful candidate would manage and develop these businesses:
- Manage the operations of the Supply Dock, where canal boats moor up to purchase goods and services.
- Manage the operations of the Shop, serving boat owners and the general public.
- Ensure product displays are optimised, attractive, fully stocked and priced.
- Develop product lines, suppliers and services.
- Ordering and stock control.
- Financial receipts, invoicing, payments, budgeting and monitoring.
- Manage the team, rotas, cover, training and recruitment.
- Business planning and development.
Marina Activities
The venues Moorings and Brokerage businesses are managed by another member of the senior management team, also working three days each week (1 day crossover). The successful candidate would support these businesses on the days when the manager is not in attendance. No previous experience of marinas is required as full training will be provided.
- Coordinating arrivals and departures of boats.
- Undertaking boat viewings.
- Supporting the marina reception.
- Addressing customer enquiries and coordinating responses.
The Successful Candidate
- Proven experience as a restaurant, retail or events manager.
- Track record of success in developing businesses, perhaps previous business owner.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Happy to roll sleeves up and muck in.
- Comfortable with responsibility, accountability and delivering.
- Commercially aware.
- Highly literate and numerate.
- Full driving licence and access to own transport.
