The Tanker & HazMat Endorsement Driver – Class A CDL safely transports and delivers gasoline and distillates by diesel‑powered tractor‑trailer combination to customer locations with below or above‑ground tanks. This is a local night shift position (4:00 PM–4:00 AM) in Sunbury, OH.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection of fuel delivery equipment before, during, and after operation.
- Inspect fuel delivery equipment for serviceability.
- Perform minor repairs of worn fuel delivery equipment.
- Ensure all unit and product documents are present and comply with current DOT and HAZMAT regulations.
- Safely operate a fuel delivery tractor‑trailer combination.
- Adhere to fuel loading terminal operating instructions and emergency procedures.
- Operate the tractor‑trailer combination in compliance with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations in urban, rural, and all weather conditions.
- Comply with all terminal loading procedures.
- Measure tank levels before and after delivery, checking for water and other contamination.
- Follow company procedures for loading and unloading a fuel delivery unit.
- Employ consistent customer service skills aligned with company policy.
- Safely operate unit pump system to deliver fuel products into above‑ground tanks.
- Operate the On‑Board computer system to maintain driver logs and trip information and prepare customer bills of lading (BOL).
- Accurately enter assessorial information onto BOL.
- Provide DOT with required information during inspections and stops.
- Conduct pump out of below or above‑ground tanks.
Requirements
- CDL A with Tanker AND HazMat endorsements required.
- May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- At least 2 years of CDL Class A driving experience required.
- Experience in the petroleum industry is preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of DOT physical and drug screen required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person or in writing required.
- Tractor‑trailer driving experience preferred.
