Wills and Probate Department Background: We understand that drawing up a will or administering an estate can be an emotional experience. Our specialist team ensures that the future of our clients' families is secure and their wishes are carried out. We offer a comprehensive and personal service to clients including will drafting, inheritance tax planning advice, assistance with the administration of a will, and advice on contested wills.

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Report directly to and collaborate with the Board to ensure performance targets are met.
  • Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills, and a sensitive understanding of clients' needs.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Wills & Probate work, providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members when appropriate.
  • Supervising a team of solicitors/trainees & paralegals undertaking private client work.
  • Ability to manage appropriate caseload types and complexities.
  • Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of Wills, Probate, and Lasting Powers of Attorney cases.
  • Attending clients, taking instructions, and preparing cases.
  • Maintaining accurate time costing procedures and ensuring compliance with file management.

Key Skills Required:

  • 5 Years+ PQE.
  • Must have a clean, valid Practicing Certificate at the time of applying.
  • Committed team player who adapts well to new challenges.
  • Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators.
  • Excellent networking and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Wills and Probate work.
  • Excellent IT Skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
  • STEP qualification preferable but not essential.
