Main Responsibilities of the Role
- Report directly to the Department Director.
- Manage all aspects of Family law work, providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members.
- Supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers, assigning appropriate caseload types and complexities.
- Deliver training and development within the department.
- Handle a range of public and private Family/Children cases including child abduction, child protection, special guardianship, adoption matters and provide advocacy.
- Maintain a professional, proactive client care approach and support business development and marketing activities.
Key Skills Required
- Valid Practising Certificate and registration with the Law Society.
- Accredited Family Solicitor on the Family Law Panel (preferred) with Abduction Panel accreditation (desirable).
- Proven supervisory experience and ability to meet key performance indicators.
- Excellent client care skills, particularly with vulnerable clients.
- Strong networking, communication, and business development abilities.
- Knowledge of publicly funded Family/Child Care work and capability to handle privately funded cases.
- Experience in advocacy is an advantage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.

Salary Structure

NQ £42,500 £40,000
1 Year PQE £44,000 £42,000
2 Years PQE £45,500 £43,500
Law Society Accreditation/Resolution Support
The Company will cover costs of mandatory training (£1,100), re-accreditations (£618 for Children Law every 3 years, £556 for Family Law every 5 years). Total approximate cost to progress to the Family panel: £1,700.
Family Law Panel Member / Accreditation Salary + Supervision Bonus
Base salary of £52,000 in London and within the M25 upon panel accreditation.
Supervision bonus payable after panel membership is attained. Structure: London £8,000 per annum; Outside London £7,400 per annum.
