Main Responsibilities of the Role
- Report directly to Department Director
- Responsible for all aspects of Housing work and, where appropriate, providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members
- Manage appropriate caseload types and complexities
- Assist with a diverse caseload of public and private housing matters, such as:
- Homelessness applications and appeals
- Disrepair claims
- Eviction and possession proceedings
- Property ownership disputes
- Unlawful eviction cases
- Succession rights for tenants
- Neighbourhood and anti‑social behaviour issues
- Conduct your own advocacy where appropriate
- Attend clients, take instructions and prepare cases
- Deal with correspondence
- Maintain accurate time costing procedures
- Implement any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews, ensuring that these are dealt with promptly
- Ensure compliance with file management
Key Skills Required
- Must have a clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying
- Strong management skills
- Committed team player with an ability to approach team concerns fairly, foster a culture of positive change and encourage cross referrals
- Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators
- Professional, proactive approach; excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable client matters in a sensitive manner and resolve complicated practicalities involved in Housing issues
- Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to successfully market the Company and generate new business
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills
- Ability to use own initiative and sound judgement
- Working knowledge of publicly funded Housing work, including legal representation and legal help, and the ability to service privately funded cases
- Extensive experience in dealing with all Housing related work
- Experience in own advocacy is an advantage
- Excellent IT skills – familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management

Salary Structure
- NQ + £48,000 (London) / £46,500 (Outside London)
- 1 Year PQE + £50,000 (London) / £48,500 (Outside London)
- 2 Years PQE + £52,000 (London) / £50,000 (Outside London)
- 3 Years PQE + £57,000 (London) / £55,000 (Outside London)
- 5 Years Plus PQE: Negotiable (London) / Negotiable (Outside London)
Supervision Bonus up to £8,000 (London) / up to £7,400 (Outside London)
Supervisor Bonus Per Annum – Supervise 1 Paralegal: £1,250 (London) / £1,150 (Outside London)
Supervise 2 Paralegals: £1,750 (London) / £1,600 (Outside London)
Supervise 3 Paralegals: £2,250 (London) / £2,100 (Outside London)
Supervise 4 Paralegals: £2,750 (London) / £2,550 (Outside London)
