This role focuses on managing a diverse caseload of public and private housing matters, providing advocacy, handling client instructions, ensuring time and cost compliance, and supporting the Housing team across all court levels.

Main Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Department Director
  • Oversee all aspects of Housing work and provide technical guidance to team members as needed
  • Manage appropriate caseloads and complexities
  • Handle a diverse range of public and private housing matters, including:
    • Homelessness applications and appeals
    • Disrepair claims
    • Eviction and possession proceedings
    • Property ownership disputes
    • Unlawful eviction cases
    • Succession rights for tenants
    • Neighbourhood and anti‑social behaviour issues
  • Conduct advocacy when appropriate
  • Meet clients, take instructions and prepare cases
  • Manage correspondence and maintain accurate time costing procedures
  • Implement supervisory recommendations following monthly file reviews
  • Ensure compliance with file management standards

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid practising certificate at the time of application
  • Team player with a culture of positive change and cross‑referral support
  • Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of performance indicators
  • Client‑care skills; ability to handle vulnerable client matters sensitively
  • Strong networking, communication, and business‑development abilities
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and initiative skills
  • Knowledge of publicly funded Housing work and capacity to handle privately funded cases

Salary Structure – Housing Salary (London)

  • NQ + * £48,000
  • 1 Year PQE + * £50,000
  • 2 Years PQE + * £52,000
  • 3 Years PQE + * £57,000
  • 5 Years Plus PQE + * Negotiable
  • Supervision Bonus up to * £8,000
  • Total £8,000
