The Family legal team is highly regarded and specialises in complex family matters, including divorce, financial disputes, child abduction, domestic abuse, adoption and related injunctions. The department is ranked by The Legal 500 UK and Chambers & Partners UK, and includes solicitors with advanced accreditations in Children Law and Family Law.
Main Responsibilities of the Role:
- Report directly to and collaborate with the Board to meet performance targets
- Manage and oversee complex family matters, including divorce, financial disputes, child abduction/adoption, and injunctions
- Lead and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers, allocating caseloads appropriately
- Deliver training and development within the department
- Advocate in court and handle a range of family law matters, ensuring professional client care
- Contribute to Business Development and Marketing to supplement the firm’s volume of work
Key Skills Required:
- 3+ Years PQE
- Clean, valid Practising Certificate at application
- Accreditation: Law Society Family Law Panel (Advanced) with Child Abduction and Wardship component, or Resolution Accredited Specialist – Child Abduction Specialist Portfolio completed, or listed on the ICACU accredited panel
- Proven track record in managing complex child abduction cases
- Experience supervising and meeting key performance indicators
- Strong client care skills, sensitive handling of vulnerable client matters, and ability to resolve practicalities in Family Law
- Excellent networking, communication and marketing capabilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of publicly funded and privately funded family law
- Advocacy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management
