Duties and responsibilities
As an Immigration Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting clients through a broad range of immigration matters, including both Legal Aid Agency funded and private client cases.
Key responsibilities will include
- Reporting directly to the Department Director.
- Assisting with a wide range of immigration casework and advocacy matters.
- Meeting with clients, taking instructions, and preparing cases.
- Managing client correspondence and case communications.
- Preparing and submitting Legal Aid Agency funding applications.
- Drafting legal documents, witness statements, and supporting evidence bundles.
- Preparing immigration applications, representation letters, document indexes, and application forms to meet Home Office requirements.
- Attending client conferences, tribunals, and court hearings where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate time recording and billing procedures.
- Implementing recommendations following file reviews and ensuring timely completion of actions.
- Ensuring compliance with file management procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Delivering outstanding client care with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
Experience and qualifications

Essential requirements include
- A strong academic background with a Law degree.
- Previous experience working as an Immigration Paralegal, Caseworker, or Immigration Advisor.
- Experience handling publicly funded immigration matters.
- Strong understanding and practical application of UK Immigration Law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while recognising when to seek guidance.
- Professional, self-motivated, and team-oriented approach.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to promote the firm's services.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
