Duties and responsibilities
As an Employment Paralegal/Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the Employment Department and delivering excellent legal services to clients.
Your responsibilities will include
- Reporting directly to the Department Director.
- Assisting with a broad range of Employment Law matters, including: Discrimination claims, Unfair dismissal, Redundancy, TUPE matters, Settlement agreement negotiations, Mediation and dispute resolution, Breach of contract claims, Conduct-related employment issues
- Attending client meetings, taking instructions and preparing cases.
- Undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
- Managing correspondence and client communications effectively.
- Maintaining accurate time recording and costing procedures.
- Implementing recommendations arising from monthly file reviews promptly and efficiently.
- Ensuring compliance with file management procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrating excellent client care through a professional, proactive and empathetic approach.
Experience and qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess
- A strong academic background, including a Law degree.
- Experience working as an Employment Paralegal, Employment Advisor or in a similar Employment Law role.
- Demonstrable knowledge and practical application of Employment Law.
- Experience handling a broad range of employment matters and tribunal-related work.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while recognising when to seek guidance.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to promote the firm's services where appropriate.
- Strong client care and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, self-motivated and team-oriented approach.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and document management systems.
