Our Clinical Negligence Department offers sensitive and expert advice to individuals and bereaved families who have suffered or lost a loved one due to medical negligence or injury during treatment. Our team is known for being caring and considerate, supporting clients at every stage of the claims process to obtain maximum compensation. We deal with a range of Clinical Negligence cases including birth injuries, cosmetic surgery, dental/hospital negligence, medical misdiagnosis, and medical/surgical negligence.
Main Responsibilities of the Role:
- Report directly to Department Director
- Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills, and a sensitive understanding of clients’ needs
- Responsible for all aspects of Clinical Negligence work, providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members when appropriate
- Manage appropriate caseload types and complexities
- Assist with casework including dealing with a range of Clinical Negligence cases issued at court
- Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases
- Deal with correspondence
- Draft schedules of loss
- Review Medical Records
- Maintain accurate time costing procedures
- Implement recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews
Key Skills Required:
- 2 - 6 years of PQE in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Law, with a proven track record of managing complex cases
- Must have a clean, valid Practicing Certificate at the time of applying
- Committed team player who adapts well to new challenges
- Previous supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators is an advantage
- Professional with a pro-active approach; excellent client care skills
- Excellent networking and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills
- Ability to use own initiative and sound judgment
- Working knowledge of Clinical Negligence work and ability to service privately funded cases
- Experience in own advocacy is an advantage
- Excellent IT Skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications
