Housing Department: Known for its advocacy in social housing, representing landlords and tenants on issues like homelessness, disrepair, eviction, and property disputes. Handles cases at all court levels, including judicial reviews at the High Court.
Main Responsibilities:
- Report to Department Director
- Manage social housing caseloads and provide guidance to team members
- Handle cases involving homelessness, disrepair, eviction, possession, and property disputes
- Attend client meetings, take instructions, and prepare cases
- Correspondence management and accurate time recording
- Follow supervisor recommendations and ensure file management compliance
Key Skills:
- Valid Practising Certificate
- Team player with leadership experience
- Proactive, client-focused, sensitive handling of vulnerable clients
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities
- Knowledge of publicly funded and private housing law
- Advocacy experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
