Medical Receptionist Duncairn Medical Practice is a busy GP practice in North Belfast seeking a friendly, organised and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team.

As the first point of contact for patients, you will play an important role in delivering an efficient, professional and compassionate service.

Essential Criteria Competent in the use of IT systems.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work accurately under pressure on your own and also as part of a team.

A professional, courteous and confidential approach at all times.

Desirable Criteria Previous experience working as a medical receptionist, though full training will be provided.

At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing or administrative role.

Experience using the EMIS clinical system.

Main Duties The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of reception and administrative duties, including: Welcoming patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

Answering telephone enquiries and responding appropriately.

Booking, cancelling, and amending appointments by telephone and in person.

Updating and maintaining patient medical records.

Processing incoming and outgoing mail.

Maintaining strict patient confidentiality.

Taking and accurately relaying messages.

Liaising with local pharmacies and other healthcare professionals.

Communicating test results to patients in line with practice procedures.

Providing general administrative support.

Please note that duties may vary throughout the working day in line with the operational needs of the practice.
