Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the role will have responsibility for working as part of the Engineering Maintenance Department, to carry out monitoring and operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant to agreed design specifications.
You will be responsible for monitoring, reporting repairs and upkeep of the plant and related equipment to required Health, Safety and Hygiene Standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations. The successful person must have a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance. The role will require participation with the engineers for other maintenance tasks as part of the Engineering team. Meticulous record keeping is essential and the candidate should be able to successfully submit records using computer-based applications to auditable standards. There will be a requirement to provide reports and information to support utility efficiency to management.

- Responsible for day-to-day running of the effluent plant, checks, monitoring and adjusting levels, readings and flows.
- Visual checks on equipment during machine operation.
- Basic preventative maintenance – oiling, greasing, replacing, tidying.
- Reporting, both written and verbal, of faults requiring specialist skills.
- Keeping the plant running within legislative boundaries.
- Carry out sampling requirements in accordance with agreed monitoring regimes.
- Maintain accurate records using computer-based applications – SCADA operation system.
- Ensure the effluent treatment plant area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Assist engineers with general maintenance tasks.
- Investigate and support utility efficiency and improvement projects.
- Provide reports and information to support utility efficiency to management.

- Previous general maintenance experience, preferably within an industrial or waste management role.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to work as part of a team, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instruction while working under own initiative.
- Attention to detail, commitment and the ability to accept responsibility.
- Possess a positive attitude and the willingness to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Computer literate as plant runs on and requires use of SCADA system and other in-house applications.
- Able to provide proof of right to work in the UK.
- Must be able to reliably commute to place of work - Carnaby Industrial Estate YO15 3QY.
