We are actively seeking applications for the role of Health and Safety Manager to join an industry leader that provides opportunities for training and progression to the right candidates. You will be working in a production environment within a meat processing plant in one of Europe's leading food companies; suppliers of choice to a range of leading local, national and international supermarket, foodservice, and manufacturing businesses exporting to over 50 countries worldwide.
Responsibilities
- The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for promoting a safe working environment for all, which minimises risk and adheres to health and safety regulations.
- This is a hands-on role and will require the successful individual to work proactively with site teams to improve the site safety management system, improve safety behaviours and advise on suitable safety measures ensuring legal requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Proven Health & Safety experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage employees, managers, contractors, and senior leaders.
- Experience in food is advantageous.
- Strong risk management, accident prevention, and safety culture expertise.
- Ability to lead incident investigations and implement effective improvements.
- Relevant qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, etc.).
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Pro-active and solutions-focused.
