Overview We are seeking a determined and committed individual to fill a Food Safety and Quality Manager role in the Dunbia Dungannon Primary Site. Reporting to the Site Food Safety and Quality Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the Technical/QA team and functions within the Primary site. Responsibilities The Role: Day to day management of the site Food Safety, Quality team; Develop and maintain site Food Safety Management System / Quality Manual etc in line customer, scheme and company requirements. Conduct/oversee internal audits relating to food safety, quality, legality and hygiene and animal welfare; Participate in HACCP as Food Safety team Leader Develop the compliance agenda and engage with all department managers to manage food safety, quality, legality and hygiene compliance; Conduct routine and ad hoc traceability challenges as necessary to meet scheme, customer and legal requirements; Conduct Animal Welfare audits and prepare and report relevant KPI reports both internally and to customers Complete and report relevant KPI reports to business and customers as required Drive the quality focus of the site team; Manage H&S compliance within the team; Lead, develop and grow the site Technical/QA team; Qualifications The Person: Minimum of National Diploma in Food Technology (or a related discipline) A Formal Food Hygiene qualification, Ideally Food Hygiene Level 3 or above; Level 4 training may be provided to the otherwise suitable candidate Formal HACCP / HCP qualification and ideally will previously have held the position of Food Safety Team Leader Demonstrable experience in a FSQAW role with Quality Management experience Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in food industry is necessary, ideally in red meat slaughter and boning Demonstrable understanding of traceability and the relevant legal and scheme requirements Have a comprehensive knowledge of animal welfare controls and current animal welfare legislation Experience dealing with retail customers and an ability to articulate their requirements and expectations Experience of BRCGS standard and audits together with OV audits, RTA, assurance scheme audits and compliance Qualified as internal auditor with previous internal audit experience an advantage Will have previous experience participating in or managing Technical / Food Safety and Quality projects Will have an understanding of the principles and operation of metal detectors, scale calibration and weight control rules Must be a self-starter, have the ability to work on their own initiative, will demonstrate a positive Can Do attitude coupled with a desire to develop themselves and the quality focus of the site team in a busy operationally responsible manner This role operatives on a Monday to Friday Basis.
