We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Food Safety & Quality team as a Quality Assurance Assistant for a maternity cover position at our Primary Factory (Boning and Slaughter Halls), reporting directly to the Quality Manager. This temporary role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to gain valuable experience and further their career in the food manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
- Completion and documentation of all relevant checks in relation to food safety, quality, legality, good manufacturing practice, good hygiene practice and customer specification.
- Reporting exceptions to Management and initiating corrective action when required.
- Conducting product sampling and testing as required.
- Striving for total customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Demonstrable ability to carry out checks, and reference information for accuracy and details;
- Ability to demonstrate strong numeracy skills;
- Ability to demonstrate IT proficiency;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work to tight production deadlines;
- High level of motivation.
Desirable:
- Minimum of six months previous experience in a quality assurance or food production environment (although not necessary, as full training will be provided);
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C and above or equivalent;
- Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of HACCP principles and pre-requisite programs;
- Possess a higher level qualification in food technology or related discipline.
