Overview
Working hours 40 per week, Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm. Pay £12.73 per hour plus bonus, rising to £13.42 per hour plus bonus after training completion. Company provided transport from Bedford Town Centre is available if required. We are actively seeking applications for the role of trainee meat trimmer/ butcher to join an industry leader that provides opportunities for training and progression to the right candidates. You will be working in a production environment within a meat processing plant in one of Europe\\\’s leading food companies; suppliers of choice to a range of leading local, national and international supermarket, foodservice and manufacturing businesses exporting to over 50 countries worldwide. You will develop the skills to prepare, bone and trim product to meet customers specifications.
Responsibilities
- Using a knife in a safe manner at all times in line with company procedures.
- Boning and trimming beef products following customer specifications.
- Confidently cutting product to weight and thickness specifications.
- Advising production management on issues with raw material quality and/or specification.
- Working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to ensure production runs smoothly.
- Maintain current yields and quality standards.
- Possess good communication and team working skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service.
- A desire to progress within the business and demonstrate a strong willingness to undertake all training required for the role.
- Experience within a similar role or within the food industry would be advantageous – however, full training will be given.
