Overview

Role
Machine Setter – Senior Operative working closely with the Engineering/Production Manager and assisting in the tool changing and machine setup operations.
Rate of pay
£15.45 p/h (effective 06/04/26)
Hours of work
4 on / 4 off, days/nights rotation

Responsibilities
Working in a team of 9 comprising 1 shift manager, 6 engineers and 2 machine setters. Reporting to the shift manager. Progression opportunities include Engineering apprenticeship.
- You will work as a team to ensure machine changeovers are completed in a timely manner on days and done to the plan for production start up on nights.
- Assembling processing equipment for production start ups.
- Working closely with the hygiene team on nights to strip and rebuild machinery and equipment for cleaning.
- Assisting engineering in completing machine maintenance.
- Managing the blade stock and blade rotation.
- Being the point of contact for blade issues on shift.
- Escalating Blade issues to the shift management.
Qualifications
- NVQ2 or equivalent desirable, but not essential.
- Trade qualifications or experience in plumbing, plastering, carpentry or industrial environment.
- Shift work (including nights).
- Hand tools experience desirable.
