12-month Fixed Term Contract

On Site Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00.

We are looking to recruit a support assistant on a 12-month fixed term contract to join the Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) team at Dunbia Cardington.

You will be a logical and systematic person with a keen eye for detail.

Reporting to the Site FSQ Manager, you will assist in the implementation and monitoring of food safety standards to ensure with compliance with legislative, customer and internal requirements in the areas of Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Technical Services, Hygiene and Microbiology.

Responsibilities

  • Completing technical checks in the factory (quality checks, carcase inspections, pH testing, steriliser checks etc)
  • Reviewing and filing QMS paperwork from various production departments. Liasing with production teams in relation to paperwork completion, where necessary.
  • Collating and registering all samples and results for microbiological/chemical testing on site.
  • Collating and trending results received from the lab.
  • Assisting with coordinating complaints and investigations and closing non-conformances.
  • Assisting with creating and maintaining technical specifications ensuring they are accurate across finished goods and raw materials
  • Identifying and reporting any non-conformances throughout the factory and implementing corrective actions
  • Assist QA Team with covering absence and holiday.

Qualifications

The Person:

Essential

  • Excellent computer skills / Microsoft Office / Excel / PowerPoint / Word / Outlook & MS Teams.
  • Ability and confidence to operate in an animal primary processing / butchery environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels across the business.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Applicants must be authorised to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Quality system experience
  • Knowledge of ISO/BRC
